(M.B., Ch.B., F.R.N.Z.C.G.P.): Passed away peacefully at Christchurch Hospital, on November 24, 2025, aged 84 years. Beloved and cherished husband and soulmate of Lesley for 60 years, dearly loved father and father-in-law of David and Victoria, and Catherine and Brett Whyte. Treasured Grandad of Eléonore, Guillaume, Mathilde; and George. Much loved brother of Janet and Jim (deceased), and Christine and Richard (both deceased), a loved uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Peter was a highly respected family doctor, dedicated to his patients and community, and admired for his compassion, integrity, and public service.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, professionally and personally. Heartfelt thanks to the St John Ambulance service and the doctors and nurses of Ward B5, Christchurch Hospital, for their exceptional care and kindness.
